The Short Answer
If you charge a phone only: 65W is plenty. If you charge a laptop: 100W makes a real difference — but only for certain models. Here's the breakdown.
Test Setup
We tested 6 chargers (3 × 65W, 3 × 100W) against three devices: iPhone 15 Pro, MacBook Air M2, and Dell XPS 13. Charge times were measured from 0% to 80%.

Results by Device
- iPhone 15 Pro: No meaningful difference (both top out at ~27W actual draw)
- MacBook Air M2: 65W charges at 45W max; 100W charges at 65W — 35% faster
- Dell XPS 13: 65W insufficient for full-speed charge; 100W required
Verdict: Get 100W if you have a laptop that draws more than 45W. Otherwise, 65W is the sweet spot for price-to-performance.
